Hydrated ruthenium(III) chloride, also known as ruthenium trichloride hydrate (RuCl3·nH2O), is a water-soluble brown-black crystalline compound. It is soluble in water and alcohols, hygroscopic, and prone to deliquescence. It decomposes easily when exposed to strong heat or in hot water. Its melting point is >300℃, and it maintains chemical stability at room temperature and pressure. It is highly hygroscopic and should be protected from light, open flames, and high temperatures.
